Six in ten likely Black Friday shoppers expect to use AI this year

Black Friday falls on 27 November this year, and many shoppers will have AI helping them.

YouGov's Australian Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2026 report (15 October) found 60% of likely shoppers expect to use AI to navigate the sales, up from 49% last year. 45% are comfortable using AI to find the best price, but only 10% would let AI complete a purchase without asking them first.

The report also found 35% of likely shoppers struggle to know whether discounts are genuine.

What this means for your business

Shoppers will ask AI tools where to find the best deal on what they want, then check the result themselves. Clear product pages, accurate prices and honest discounts make it easier for AI to recommend you and for shoppers to trust what they find.

A quick check you can do this week

Ask ChatGPT or Google's AI Mode where to get the best Black Friday deal on one of your products. See whether you come up and whether the price and offer it shows are right.

How Ven can help
